The people who found Jolie called the Murcia Police who checked the chip and it turned out to be from Denmark. The swimming dog remained in police facilities until his transfer to a protector of the municipality. The agents, meanwhile, tried to locate the owners of it.
The call from a woman from Cádiz called the police station explaining that the daughter of a friend of hers from the United States had lost a dog when she was sailing to Ibiza in the company of her partner. Apparently at one point during the crossing, they suffered a strong windstorm and the dog fell into the sea and they could not rescue it, according to a local media publication.

The couple already considered their dog lost when it was located on the beach in Murcia with the only explanation being that Jolie swam to the shores located more than 200 kilometers away. The Local Police believe that the dog was swimming one or two days until reaching the coast.
The owners were finally located and when they were told that their dog was safe and sound in Murcia , they traveled there through the port of Calpe, the one closest to them, and within a few hours they arrived in Águilas to pick up Jolie.
In the video uploaded to networks by Murcia Police officers you can see the joy of the reunion. He is heard saying to the owner: “We have him back” while the dog whimpers with excitement and does not stop wagging its tail with joy.
Between Ibiza and Águilas there are more than 160 nautical miles, about 260 kilometers . Although it is unknown at what exact point the animal fell into the sea, although Jolie’s swimming prowess is already extraordinary.
