Today there are many headlines that when you read them you automatically think they are from BESTOFSHAYARI or some substitute: they cannot be true. But they are. Lots of amazing things happen every day that shows reality is stranger than fiction.
And in this case, never better said, because the author of an article called How to kill your husband
Her name is Nancy Crampton Brophy, she is 71 years old and has a long history of writing romantic suspense novels. In addition to those books, she also published articles on her blog, and one of them, in 2011, was titled How to kill your husband , in which she gave instructions on how to do it without leaving a trace.
Tips to kill
He advised women to be “very intelligent” and “ruthless”, because they would always be the main suspects due to their proximity to the victim. And he also gave clues on how to kill: avoid knives, because they cause a lot of blood; poison, because it is easily traceable; the pistols, due to the noise and their difficult handling; and the assassins , because they are not trustworthy.
I sell advice and I don’t have it, because Crampton killed her husband with a firearm. It happened in June 2018, but the sentence has now come out. The woman conscientiously planned the crime and went to the Oregon Culinary Institute, where he was a professor and where there were no surveillance cameras, and fired two shots at him that ended his life, making sure the bullets stayed off the police radar.
To unload even more guilt, the next day she wrote a post on Facebook lamenting that her husband had been murdered and expressing that she was devastated, before worrying about collecting all the life insurance policies that he had taken out. She could not enjoy the money, because shortly after she was arrested as the main suspect.
Seven week trial
Four years later she has been convicted, and in the trial, held for seven weeks in Portland, it has been proven that she mixed parts from many weapons she bought to make a weapon that is very difficult for the authorities to trace. She argued that she had weapons for her personal defense and because she was writing a novel in which a woman wanted to take revenge on her husband for the abuses committed, so she needed material that would get her more into the story. She has not helped him to avoid conviction and now she awaits him in jail.
Interestingly, that article he wrote on his blog began like this: "As a romantic suspense novelist, I spend a lot of time thinking about murders and also about police procedures. If I put myself in the shoes of a murderer it is so as not to end up in jail. I’ll say it plainly for the record: I don’t like to wear jumpsuits and orange is not my favorite color."
