During several days the tributes followed one another, the sales of discs, as much alone as in the formation that shared with his brothers, they shot themselves.

The posthumous albums came out as mushrooms and the public memorial service for Jackson , at the Staples Center in Los Angeles , was broadcast live to everyone, attracting an estimated global audience of one billion people.

What has remained of his image and his legacy a decade later?

Jacko's legacy

A fruitful career, some of the best songs in the history of pop, an iconic image, a unique way of moving ... but also a life full of lights and shadows, a fragile personality and a handful of accusations of abuse and pedophilia .

Ten years later, and despite the post-mortem scandals, Jacko is still profitable.

Although their songs are no longer heard on some radio stations such as the BBC, the Simpsons removed the chapter in which the artist made a cameo (his voice was heard) and the HBO series that portrays cases of abuses by Jacko is one of the most watched spaces in the chain, the myth surpasses the man and the fascination for the character to the crimes of the singer.

The experts in 'treasures' continue to consider any material related to the artist as jewels that any auction house would like to have. It is true that it was before the scandal broke out, but his belongings continue in ascending value. Many of his fans refuse to abandon the image they have of Jacko as an artist and others deny even the accusations.

Children of a myth

Not long ago, Debbie Rowe, ex-wife of the king of pop, confessed that the singer's children (Prince and Paris) are not the singer's children, but a sperm donor.

The boys, now in their twenties, are the fruit of the marriage that the artist and the nurse maintained between 1996 and 1999.

"They fertilized me. In the same way that I fecundate my mares to reproduce. It was very technical. I was his pure blood, "Rowe told The Sun.

It was the icing on the cake that has also been marked by strange behavior (that image of Jackson with his son on a balcony) and the unreasonable resemblance (those children so blond).

The funeral did not bury the scandal

The death of Michael was so sudden and brutal that many seemed to forget some shady matters that had been partially buried: in 1993 the father of a minor withdrew the lawsuit from the court after reaching a million dollar extrajudicial settlement of 23 million dollars.

In 2005 the artist was acquitted of charges of child sexual abuse for lack of conclusive evidence although the singer acknowledged in a 2003 documentary, 'Living with Michael Jackson', that he had slept in the same bed as the children and did not think he had nothing bad about it.

However, the release of 'Leaving Neverland' featured a heart-rending portrait of two men,

Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who claim that Jackson abused them for years.

Jackson, a sure value

Ten years after his death and while other famous hit by the scourge of sex scandals like Kevin Spacey have seen his career vanish, Michael continues to add.

According to the Associated Press, the artist's estate has raised more than 1.3 billion US dollars until the end of 2016.

At the same time, shows like the one launched by Circo del Sol, 'Michael Jackson ONE' , still has two Passes, five nights a week in Las Vegas.

2020 will see the premiere on Broadway in a musical inspired by his life titled 'Do not stop till you get enough' and Billboard reported in March that transmission and sales of their music increased after 'Leaving Neverland' s e premiere .

What happened to Murray?

Jackson died on June 25, 2009 at the age of 50 years after receiving a lethal dose of anesthetic propofol as a sleeping aid.

His personal physician, Conrad Murray, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for administering the drug.

Conrad Murray had been treating him for six weeks for insomnia and said that when he found him he was not breathing, his pulse was weak and he did everything possible to save him.

In 2011 he was found guilty and spent two years in jail.

He was released from prison in 2013

A new documentary from the British television channel QuestOD entitled 'Killing Michael Jackson' provides new information about his death with statements from the policemen who found his body: "There were post-its or pieces of paper glued with zeal throughout the room, mirrors and doors included, with little slogans or phrases, I do not know if they were letters or thoughts, some looked like poems, the bedroom was ... it was a disaster, "says one of them in the documentary.

Hero or villain, Jacko will remain a legend.
