The world is still waiting for a panel of international experts to publish its report on the true cause of death of Pablo Neruda, the Chilean poet who left us so many memorable phrases in his poems and who died after being rushed to a clinic, in circumstances that are still unclear, a few days after the military coup that overthrew Salvador Allende and brought Augusto Pinochet to power.
In the report, the disclosure of which has been postponed several times due to technical issues and disagreements between experts, it is expected that the origin of the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, found in the exhumed body of the poet throughout this process, will be ruled on, and that would allow determine if he was poisoned as reported by his personal assistant in 2011 or if, on the contrary, he died as a result of the prostate cancer he suffered and for which he was admitted.
Pablo Neruda , whose figure has been questioned in recent years as a result of the publication of the documentary Neruda , by the Chilean Pablo Laraín, and the denunciations of the feminist movement, left us in his poems many phrases that have become famous.
